Loma Land at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital
Hospital visits can be unsettling, especially for pediatric patients facing serious medical procedures. Loma Land reduces feelings of unease by immersing children in a virtual world of friendly, colorful forest creatures.
I was responsible for building the kiosk prototype and handing off related graphics and animations.

The Central Standard Building

Interactive Musical Clocktower
A playful interactive musical clocktower, called the Chromaphone. This public art installation turns the plaza into an active destination and its visitors into musicians. People can play with the Chromphone’s ‘Waterfall Sequencer’ or ‘Elemental Sampler’ to generate patterns of sound and color.

Custom Red Line Transit Map
A dynamic media installation that provides up to date transit information. With a transparent LCD screen mounted in front of wood veneer, the dual-layer design give the media the quality of being able to disappear and reveal only the wood.

A mixed physical and dynamic digital installation. Transparent LCD screens are mounted over a historic relief map, mix opacity and clarity, alternatively obscuring and revealing the details of the map underneath.

Twitter Word Cloud Visualization
A 126 foot-long, 25-foot wide, display that extends from the exterior facade to the interior lobby. The installation blends three different LED resolutions into a single display. The entire display is both a medium for content, a lighting surface and an architectural addition to the building.
Using a trending topic as the starting point, we pull related tweets and then display the most frequent words used in them. The trending topic becomes the title with the related group of words flowing around it, working together to create a story.
